You are now the proud owner of a beautiful new cutting board. Let's keep it that way! There are a few things that are important to remember in caring for your hardwood boards.
1st- NEVER, NEVER, NEVER put them in a dishwasher or submerge them in water. Did I say NEVER?
2nd- Wash them off with hot soapy water and rinse after use. Be sure to dry them off.
3rd- When you cut raw meat on them, spritz them with lemon juice after washing and then re-rinse. The acid in the lemon juice will kill any bacteria from the raw meat.
4th-Condition your board with only food grade safe Mineral Oil. Not- Olive oil, not Vegetable oil or another type of oil, they can turn rancid. You can do this whenever you want, depending on usage. I use my board daily and condition mine about once every couple months.
